Take me out to the ball game...

Today we watched the Rockies dominate the Marlins at Coors Field!    We got tickets with a big COVA group, the school where I teach online, and we were able to hang out with the Degenhart family and some great teachers and students.  It was a fun, busy day!

Steven was SO EXCITED to go to the game.  He had been preparing for days, constantly singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" and chanting "Go Tulo!"  When he got up this morning, he immediately started asking "When are we going to the ball game?"  After church, he put on his Rockies gear and we headed downtown.

Check me out! 

Grant was at the game, too.  He slept until the 7th inning stretch when I had to go feed him.  It was a great day with my boys.

Matt had fun with his oldest son.  They cheered for Tulo, drank soda, and ate cotton candy.  Matt was excited to earn a beer from Jerad when he bet that Seth Smith's first hit would be a home run.  Good call, babe!  Even if they would have gone with a double-or-nothing, Matt would have claimed the victory.  Seth Smith hit two homers!

The Degenhart family enjoyed the game.  It was Brody's second outing at Coors Field - what a true fan!  Not even six months old, but already at his second Rockies game.

Steven loved hanging out with Aunt Ishi and his cousin Brody.  Apparently, Brody wanted to see Steven (Steven told us several times, "Hey!  He wants to see me!").

(I think he is pointing at Tulo.  He liked to tell us that Tulo is his favorite.)

Steven's favorite person of the day - Uncle Jed.  Steven sat with him for most of the game, and Jed spoiled him with a bag of M&Ms.  Steven sang him "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," but stopped at the part where you "buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks."  He told Jed, "I want some cracker jacks!"  Jed took Steven to the concession stand, but they came back with a bad of M&Ms.   Steven enjoyed hanging out with cousin Dakota and Uncle Jerad. They are great!

We plan on making this the first of many Rockies games this summer.  We love the Rockies and we love singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game!"
