Every night before bed, Steven likes to make up his own stories. It is so neat to listen to him ramble on and use his imagination. Usually the stories go something like this:
Steven: "Once upon a time there was a big red T-rex."
Me: "And what did T-rex do?"
Steven: "He ate gallimimus."
Me: "And then what?"
Steven: "He ate a shark."
Me: "Okay. Then what did T-rex do?"
Steven: "Ummmm... he ate a brachiosaurus. Then he went to bed. The end."
He loves his dinosaur stories, and they always involve T-rex eating something, so I was shocked tonight when he started off the story with "Once upon a time there was a princess..."
A princess?!?! What?!?! This caught me completely off guard. However, the story soon became much more Steven-esque. Here's how it went:
Steven: "Once upon a time there was a princess."
Me: "A princess! What did she do?"
Steven: "She climbed a mountain and there was a lot of water."
Me: "Water? What did the princess do when she saw the water?"
Steven: "She went swimming, and then she climbed to the top of tallest mountain."
Me: "What was at the top of the mountain?"
Steven: "A BIG cheetah. The cheetah ATE the princess! The end."
So much for the sweet princess story. :)
