Tonight Steven and I made playdough.
We are responsible for supplying his preschool with playdough, so rather than purchase 20 containers from the store, we decided to go with homemade dough. It was so easy and very fun. Plus, we have about a gallon of playdough for a cheaper price. We made a triple batch in less than 20 minutes, and the best part of all - we made it together. (Okay, I made most of it because Steven wasn't interested in making all three batches, but he did participate for a lot of the activity.) Enjoy! :)
Playdough Recipe
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 cups water
Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add the wet ingredients and stir until smooth.
Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly.
When the dough sticks together in a ball, remove it from the heat.
Intermittently knead the dough ball like you would bread. Continue to knead as the playdough cools. Add food coloring if you want colored playdough.
Be sure the dough is cool before putting it in a Ziploc bag.
